'08 Smart Fortwo

The 2008 Smart Fortwo is a moderately-priced two-seater car that was engineered by Mercedes-Benz.

It is available as a coupe or cabriolet and is only 106 inches long. There is only one engine offered - a 1.0 liter, three cylinder. The rear hatch provides 7.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Even though this is a small car, it offers plenty of cargo room. It is comfortable and roomy for a small car.

Standard on the 2008 Smart Fortwo are front and side airbags. Optional on this car are air conditioning and power windows. The Passion model includes these features, along with heated power mirrors, a CD player, shift paddles and a fixed glass roof with an opening shade. The Passion Cabrio is the top of the line and adds audio upgrade and a soft folding roof (with glass/defroster rear window).

Mileage on the 2008 Fortwo is great at 41 mpg highway and 33 mpg city.

This little car is easy to parallel park and can zip in and out of spaces easily, as well as being able to park on an angle because of it's size.

2008 Smart ForTwo

Some of the best assets of the 2008 Smart Fortwo are its safety features and its gas mileage and emissions. It is even smaller than the Mini Cooper. While owners may give up something in the way of cargo space, its safety, dependability, and fuel efficiency more than make up for the reduced space.

As far as safety features go, some of the standards items include a unique body shape and construction, which Smart christens as its Tridion Safety Cell. This feature is made of cross members and extruding crush zones, which are designed to leave little to no room for another car to strike a vulnerable spot on the Fortwo. Other safety features include front and side-impact air bags, antilock brakes, traction control, and an electronic stability system.

Concerning emissions and gas mileage, the 2008 Smart Fortwo has an estimated thirty three to forty miles per gallon for city and highway driving. This comes second only to certain hybrid cars. Although premium fuel is the recommended choice for this car, regular can also be used.
